S.O.      (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by  clause
(b)  of section 62 of the Finance Act, 1994 (32 of 1994),  the
Central  Government, hereby appoints the  1st  day  of  March,
1997,  to  be the date on which the amendments to the  Central
Excise  Tariff  Act,  1985 (5 of 1986), as  specified  in  the
Fourth  Schedule  to  the said Finance Act,  shall  come  into
force.
